Bringing Your Harman Corgi Puppy Home
We live on our farm and ranch in the Texas Panhandle, but Harman Corgi puppies go to families across Texas and throughout the United States. Distance doesn’t have to keep you from bringing home one of our puppies.
You can drive to pick up your puppy, fly into Amarillo, use professional ground transportation, or arrange for a flight nanny. I’m happy to help you understand the options and figure out what makes the most sense for you and your puppy.
Where We're Located
Harman Corgis is located on our family farm and ranch in the Texas Panhandle, about 25 miles from the nearest town and approximately two hours from Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport (AMA).
Being in a rural area hasn’t kept our puppies from going to families across Texas and throughout the United States. If you’re coming from a distance, I’ll help you understand the pickup and transportation options so we can make a plan that works for you and your puppy.
Our No Paws on the Ground Policy
One thing I’m very careful about when puppies travel is limiting their exposure to places where unknown dogs have been. Young puppies are still going through their vaccination series when they leave me, so I don’t want them walking through airport pet-relief areas, rest stops, parking lots or other heavily traveled public areas.
That’s why I have a No Paws on the Ground Policy for puppies traveling home. Whether your puppy is traveling with you, a ground transporter or a flight nanny, I want them safely carried or kept in a clean carrier or crate rather than walking on the ground in public areas.
If you’re picking your puppy up yourself, I’ll also talk with you about how to handle stops on the trip home. You can still give your puppy breaks and take care of their needs without putting them down in areas used by unfamiliar dogs.
It takes a little extra planning, but reducing unnecessary exposure while your puppy is still completing their vaccinations is worth it to me.

Pick Up Your Puppy in Person
Many families choose to drive to us and meet at an agreed-upon location near our farm.
When you pick up your puppy, I’ll go over anything you need to know for the trip home and answer any last-minute questions before you leave.
Ground Transportation
If driving to the Texas Panhandle isn’t practical, professional ground transportation may be another option.
I can help connect you with experienced USDA-certified transporters who specialize in transporting puppies. Your puppy travels with a professional transporter from me to an agreed-upon location near you while following my No Paws on the Ground Policy.
Availability and cost depend on your location, the transporter’s route and scheduling.
Flying Home with Your Puppy from Amarillo (AMA)
We are approximately 100 miles from Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport (AMA). If you choose to fly here, I can arrange to meet you at the airport with your puppy.
Many families fly into Amarillo and return home with their puppy traveling in an airline-approved carrier in the cabin. Before your trip, I’m happy to help you with carrier preparation and answer questions about traveling home with your puppy.
Airline rules, pet fees and carrier requirements vary, so you’ll need to check the current requirements for your airline before booking your trip.
Flight Nanny Service
If you aren’t able to travel, a professional flight nanny may be an option. I can help you coordinate with an experienced flight nanny who will travel with your puppy in the airplane cabin and personally meet you at an airport near you.
Flight nanny costs vary depending on the trip. You’ll pay the flight nanny directly for expenses such as airfare, the airline’s pet fee and their service fee.
I only work with experienced professional transporters, and I’m happy to help you compare the options and decide what works best for your location and circumstances.
California Families: Because of California’s requirements for puppy sales and dogs entering the state, California families have a slightly different process. You will need to travel to Texas to pick up your puppy in person and complete the final paperwork here. I’ll also work with my veterinarian to make sure the required health certificate is completed before your puppy travels home with you.

Can I get a puppy if I don't live in Texas?
Yes. Harman Corgi puppies go to families throughout the United States. Depending on where you live, you can drive to pick up your puppy, fly into Amarillo and take your puppy home with you, or use professional ground transportation or a flight nanny.
I’m happy to help you figure out which option makes the most sense based on where you live.
Can I fly home with my puppy in the cabin?
Yes. Many families choose to meet us at Amarillo International Airport (AMA) and fly home with their puppy in the cabin.
Your puppy will need to travel in an airline-approved carrier and meet your airline’s current requirements for in-cabin pet travel.
I recommend checking your airline’s pet policy before booking your flight because requirements and fees can change.
What airlines allow puppies to fly in the cabin?
Many major airlines allow small puppies to travel in the cabin, but each airline has its own rules for pet travel, including carrier size, pet fees and reservation requirements.
Because airline policies can change, I recommend checking directly with the airline before you book your flight. I’m also happy to share what has worked well for other Harman Corgi families traveling home from Amarillo.
What is a flight nanny?
A flight nanny is a professional who travels with your puppy in the airplane cabin and personally delivers your puppy to you at an agreed-upon airport.
If you’re unable to travel to Texas yourself, I can help coordinate with an experienced flight nanny. Your puppy stays with the nanny throughout the trip rather than being shipped as cargo.
How much does transportation cost?
Transportation costs vary depending on where you live and which option you choose. Ground transportation and flight nanny costs depend on the destination, route and travel arrangements.
If you fly to Amarillo and take your puppy home yourself, you’ll be responsible for your airfare, the airline’s pet fee and any other travel expenses. I’m happy to help you compare the options once I know where you’ll be traveling from.
What should I bring when picking up my puppy?
What you’ll need depends somewhat on whether you’re driving or flying. At a minimum, plan to have a secure carrier or crate, water, cleanup supplies, a harness and anything you’ll need to keep your puppy comfortable on the trip home.
