YOUR JOURNEY BEGINS

Getting Started

How do I join the waiting list?

The first step is to complete our Getting to Know You Form so we can learn more about your family, lifestyle, and what you’re looking for in a companion.

After reviewing your form, we’ll schedule a phone call to answer your questions, discuss upcoming litters, and determine whether a Harman Corgis puppy is the right fit for your family.

If you’d like to move forward, a $200 reservation deposit secures your place on our waiting list and is applied toward the final purchase price of your puppy. Once on the waiting list, you’ll receive updates on planned and current litters so you can follow along as puppies become available.

How much is the waiting list deposit?

The waiting list deposit is $200 and is applied toward the final purchase price of your puppy.

The deposit is partially refundable, with $150 refundable and $50 retained to cover administrative and processing costs. The deposit remains refundable until you commit to a specific litter.

Our goal is to give families the flexibility to join the waiting list and learn more about upcoming litters while ensuring we can accurately plan for future puppy placements. For complete details, please review our Waiting List Policy.

How long is the wait for a puppy?

The wait for a puppy can vary depending on your preferences, the timing of our planned litters, and the number of families currently on the waiting list.

We typically have litters in the spring and fall, and many puppies are reserved by families on our waiting list before they are born. Because we focus on making the right match rather than simply filling reservations, some families may be matched with a puppy sooner than others based on temperament, sex, color preferences, and lifestyle needs.

The best way to learn about current availability and expected wait times is to complete our Getting to Know You Form and schedule a conversation with Leslie. We’ll be happy to discuss upcoming litters and provide a realistic estimate based on your specific preferences.

What happens after I join the waiting list?

Once you’ve joined our waiting list, you’ll begin receiving updates on planned and current litters through our newsletter so you can follow along as puppies become available.

When we have a litter that appears to be a good fit for your preferences, we’ll reach out to discuss the puppies and answer any questions you may have. Families who commit to a specific litter receive regular updates throughout the puppies’ development, including weekly videos, photos, preparation resources, and access to a private webpage created specifically for that litter.

As the puppies grow, you’ll receive temperament information, participate in a private Zoom meeting, and receive guidance throughout the puppy selection process. Our goal is to help you feel informed, prepared, and confident every step of the way as you welcome your new family member home.

Can I choose my puppy?

Absolutely. One of the most exciting parts of the process is getting to watch the puppies grow and develop.

Families receive regular updates, including weekly videos, so you can follow the puppies’ personalities, interactions, and development as they mature. At approximately 7 weeks of age, each puppy undergoes a temperament evaluation to help us better understand their confidence, energy level, trainability, and overall personality.

You’ll receive the temperament testing results and participate in a private Zoom meeting where you can see the puppies in action, ask questions, and discuss which puppy may be the best fit for your family. While the final decision is always yours, we’re happy to provide guidance and recommendations based on each puppy’s temperament and your goals.

When do puppies go home?

Our puppies typically go home between 8½ and 9 weeks of age.

This timing allows puppies to benefit from important developmental experiences with their littermates and mother while completing key milestones in our Next Level Puppy Program. Before going home, puppies receive a veterinary examination, age-appropriate vaccinations, temperament evaluation, and continued socialization experiences designed to help prepare them for life with their new families.

BRINGING YOUR PUPPY HOME

Transportation & Location

Where are you located?

Harman Corgis is located near Perryton, Texas, in the northeastern Texas Panhandle.

While we’re located in a rural area, many of our puppies join families throughout Texas and across the United States. We are happy to discuss pickup and transportation options to help make the process as convenient as possible.

Do you offer transportation or delivery options?

Absolutely.

Many Harman Corgis puppies live outside of Texas and in homes across the country. Throughout the process, we provide regular updates, photos, videos, temperament information, and Zoom meetings so families can stay connected and informed regardless of where they live.

Whether you’re a few hours away or across the country, we’re committed to helping you feel confident and supported throughout the process and help you arrange transportation.

Can I get a puppy if I don't live in Texas?

Absolutely. Harman Corgi puppies live with families all across the United States. We regularly work with out-of-state buyers and can help coordinate transportation so distance does not prevent you from bringing home the right puppy.

Can you tell me more about flying home with a puppy?

Yes. Many families choose to fly to Texas and return home with their puppy in the cabin of the airplane. We will meet you at Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport (AMA), where you can pick up your puppy and begin your journey home together.

Families are responsible for making their own flight arrangements, purchasing required pet travel pass from their airline, and providing an airline-approved carrier that fits under the seat in front of them. We are happy to answer questions and share recommendations to help make the process as smooth as possible.

Because we are located approximately two hours from Amarillo, please contact us before booking flights so we can confirm that we are available to meet you on your preferred day and time.

Flying home with a puppy is a popular option for out-of-state families, and most puppies adjust very well while traveling close to their new family. For many families, it’s also a wonderful opportunity to begin bonding with their new puppy from the very first day.

Before going home, we begin introducing puppies to experiences that help prepare them for traveling include exposure to travel crates, short periods of confinement, novel environments, and other confidence-building experiences. We also provide the health records and paperwork required for your puppy to travel.

How does a flight nanny service work?

A flight nanny personally accompanies your puppy in the cabin of a commercial flight and delivers them directly to you at your local airport. This allows your puppy to travel safely with human supervision throughout the journey and is a popular option for families who are unable to travel to Texas themselves.

Families are responsible for the costs associated with the flight nanny service, including the nanny’s airline ticket, any required pet travel fees, and the flight nanny’s fee for their time and travel. The exact cost will vary depending on your location and current airfare.

We are happy to discuss flight nanny options and help connect you with trusted transportation providers who have experience safely transporting puppies.

Prior to travel, we help prepare your puppy for the journey by introducing them to a travel crate. We also provide the health records and documentation required for your puppy’s flight.

How do you prepare puppies for travel?

Every Harman Corgis puppy will travel to their new home either by car or plane.  Because of this, we begin preparing puppies for travel as part of our early socialization and development program.

As puppies grow, they are introduced to age-appropriate crate experiences, new environments, handling by different people, and other confidence-building activities designed to help them adapt to new situations. Our goal is to raise puppies that are resilient, adaptable, and prepared for life’s adventures.

Before going home, our puppies are introduced to travel crates and experience car rides without their littermates.  We will be we also provide the health records and documentation needed for your puppy’s journey.

While every puppy is an individual, we find that most puppies adjust remarkably well to travel when they are given a thoughtful introduction to new experiences from an early age.

CLEAR EXPECTATIONS

Pricing, Registration & Policy

How much do your puppies cost?

Our pet puppies are $2,000 and are placed with limited AKC registration. This includes extensive health testing of the parents, early socialization, age-appropriate enrichment, temperament evaluation, and ongoing breeder support before and after your puppy goes home.

Full AKC registration may be available on a limited case-by-case basis for approved breeding programs. Please contact us if you would like to discuss full registration options.

What is the difference between Limited Registration and Full Registration?

Most of our puppies are placed with limited AKC registration as family companions.

Limited registration means that the dog cannot be used for breeding and any offspring cannot be registered with the AKC. These puppies are sold on a spay/neuter agreement.  They can participate in all AKC events except for conformation classes.

Full registration includes breeding rights and may be available on a limited basis to approved breeding programs that share our commitment to health, temperament, and responsible breeding practices.

Do you require a contract?

Yes. All puppy placements require a signed contract designed to protect both your family and our breeding program.

Our contract clearly outlines important details such as our health guarantee, registration terms, and our commitment to every puppy we produce. We believe that setting clear expectations helps ensure a positive experience for both the breeder and the buyer.

To provide additional peace of mind, our contracts are professionally drafted by a Texas attorney who specializes in animal law. Our goal is to make the agreement fair, straightforward, and easy to understand.

You are welcome to review a sample contract before placing a reservation:

BREEDING WITH PURPOSE

Health & Breeding Program

What health testing do your dogs receive?

Health is one of the most important considerations in our breeding program.

Before being included in our program, our breeding dogs undergo comprehensive genetic testing for inherited conditions found in Pembroke Welsh Corgis, including Degenerative Myelopathy (DM), Exercise-Induced Collapse (EIC), von Willebrand Disease Type I (vWD1), PRA-rcd3, X-SCID, MDR1, and other relevant genetic traits.

We use these results when planning every litter. Through careful selection of breeding pairs, we ensure that no Harman Corgis puppy will ever be genetically affected by DM, EIC, or vWD1. This allows us to prevent these inherited diseases from being passed on to future generations while continuing to preserve the qualities that make the breed special.

In addition to genetic testing, many of our dogs complete additional health screenings, including OFA evaluations. We believe transparency is important, which is why health testing results and supporting documentation are available on our parent dog pages.

Our goal is simple: to produce healthy, well-structured companions with the best possible foundation for a long and active life.

Are your puppies Microchipped?

Yes. Every Harman Corgis puppy is microchipped before going home.

A microchip provides permanent identification and greatly increases the likelihood of being reunited with your dog if they are ever lost. Before your puppy leaves for their new home, we help ensure the microchip is registered in the new owner’s name so they are listed as the primary point of contact from day one.

As part of our lifelong commitment to every puppy we produce, Harman Corgis remains listed as an additional contact on the microchip for the life of the dog. While we hope the information is never needed, this added layer of protection helps ensure that a Harman Corgis puppy always has a path back to people who care about their well-being.

We will also provide information on maintaining and updating your microchip registration should your contact information ever change.

Do you recommend pet insurance?

Yes. While we work hard to produce healthy puppies through careful breeding decisions and comprehensive health testing, unexpected illnesses and accidents can happen to any dog.

For added peace of mind, every Harman Corgis puppy goes home with 30 days of complimentary pet insurance coverage through Trupanion. This means your puppy is covered during their journey home and throughout the important transition period as they adjust to their new family and environment.

There is no obligation to continue coverage or purchase a policy through Trupanion after the complimentary period ends. The decision to maintain pet insurance—and which provider to use—is entirely up to you and your family’s needs.

Our goal is simply to help families start their journey with confidence and provide an extra layer of protection during what is often one of the biggest transitions in a puppy’s life.

BEYOND GO-HOME DAY

Support & Ownership

What support do I receive after bringing my puppy home?

Our commitment to you doesn’t end when your puppy goes home.

Families receive ongoing breeder support, access to educational resources, preparation materials, and our private owner community. Whether you have questions about training, health, behavior, or daily life with your puppy, we’re always available to help.

We believe bringing home a puppy is just the beginning of a lifelong relationship, and we’re committed to supporting you every step of the way.

What if I can no longer care for my dog?

We believe every Harman Corgis puppy is a lifelong responsibility.

If circumstances change and you are no longer able to care for your dog, please contact us. We will either welcome the dog back into our care or help you find an appropriate new home.

Our dogs should never be surrendered to a shelter or rescue without first contacting us.

Do You Allow visitors?

To protect the health and safety of our puppies, we do not allow visitors.

Young puppies are especially vulnerable to contagious illnesses such as parvovirus, and limiting outside exposure is one of the most important steps we can take to help keep them healthy during their critical early weeks of development.

While we do not offer in-person visits, we work hard to keep families connected throughout the process. Families receive regular photos, videos, and updates as the puppies grow, and we schedule private Zoom meetings so you can see the puppies live, ask questions, and watch them interact in real time.

Our goal is to provide complete transparency while ensuring every puppy receives the safest possible start in life.

FINDING THE RIGHT FIT

Puppy Selection & Matching

How are puppies matched to families?

Every puppy is an individual, and our goal is to help each family find the right fit.

At approximately 7 weeks of age, each puppy completes a temperament evaluation that helps us better understand their confidence, energy level, trainability, and overall personality. Families receive the results and participate in a private Zoom meeting where they can see the puppies in action, ask questions, and discuss which puppy may be the best fit for their lifestyle and goals.

While the final decision is always yours, we’re happy to provide guidance based on each puppy’s temperament and your family’s needs.

Can I request a specific sex or color?

Absolutely. We will note your preferences for sex, color, and markings when you join our waiting list.

That said, nature ultimately makes those decisions. We have no control over how many puppies will be born in a litter, their sex, color, or markings. As a result, some preferences may require additional flexibility or a longer wait.

While we understand that many families have a specific vision in mind, we believe temperament is the most important factor in creating a successful long-term match. A puppy’s personality, confidence, energy level, and overall fit with your lifestyle will have a much greater impact on your daily life than color or markings.

Our goal is to help you find the right puppy for your family while also honoring your preferences whenever possible.

What happens if there isn't a puppy in the litter that is a good fit for my family?

Our goal is not simply to place puppies—it’s to help families find the right companion for their lifestyle and goals.

Because temperament is highly heritable, we usually have a good idea of the energy level, personality traits, and overall temperament we expect from a particular breeding. When we announce a litter, we reach out to families whose preferences and goals may align well with what we expect from that pairing.

Occasionally, a litter may not produce a puppy that fits your preferences for sex, color, temperament, or timing. If that happens, there is absolutely no obligation to move forward with a puppy from that litter. We can simply continue your place on the waiting list and consider you for a future litter that may be a better fit.

We believe that waiting for the right puppy is always better than settling for the wrong one, and we’re committed to helping you find a companion you’ll enjoy for years to come.
