Raising a great family companion begins long before a puppy goes home.
Our program brings together thoughtful breeding decisions, health testing, temperament, intentional early socialization, and family education to give each puppy a strong foundation for life.
Everything we do is centered around the same goal: raising healthy, well-prepared Corgis and helping families find the puppy that is right for them.
Health Begins Before Puppies Are Born
Raising healthy puppies starts long before a litter arrives. It begins with the dogs we choose for our breeding program and the decisions we make when planning each litter.
Our breeding dogs complete health and genetic testing appropriate for Pembroke Welsh Corgis, and we consider health, structure, temperament, and pedigree when planning a pairing.
No breeder can guarantee what the future will hold for every puppy, but we believe thoughtful breeding decisions give us the best opportunity to produce healthy dogs that families can enjoy for years to come.
Temperament Matters
Health is only part of what determines what life with a dog will be like. Temperament matters, too.
Pembroke Welsh Corgis are intelligent, confident herding dogs, but individual dogs differ considerably in energy level, independence, confidence, desire to be with people, and how they respond to the world around them.
That’s why temperament influences both our breeding decisions and the way we help families choose a puppy. We spend weeks getting to know each puppy and complete a structured temperament evaluation before puppy selection.
Our goal isn’t to tell you which puppy you should choose. It’s to give you the information you need to understand each puppy and choose the one that may fit your family best.
Raised for the World They'll Live In
The first weeks of a puppy’s life provide an important opportunity to begin preparing them for life as a family companion.
During their time with with us, we intentionally introduce age-appropriate experiences that help them learn about people, household life, sounds, surfaces, handling, grooming, new environments, and the everyday experiences they’ll encounter as family companions.
These experiences are introduced according to the puppies’ developmental stage. The goal isn’t to expose puppies to everything possible—it’s to thoughtfully build confidence, curiosity, and the ability to adapt as their world gets bigger.
This intentional approach to early development has become one of the most important parts of how we raise our puppies.
Getting to Know Every Puppy
Raising puppies in our home gives us weeks to watch them develop as individuals.
We see how they interact with people, littermates, adult dogs, new experiences, sounds, movement, toys, and everyday challenges. As they grow, differences begin to emerge, and we learn who seeks out people, who wants to explore, who tends to think before jumping in, and who seems to have an endless supply of energy.
Our families get to be part of that process, too. Through weekly litter videos and updates, you’ll watch the puppies grow, explore, learn, and begin showing their individual personalities. Along the way, we’ll share what we’re seeing and help you understand what those differences may mean.
By the time puppy selection arrives, you’re not choosing from a group of puppies you barely know. You’ve spent weeks watching them develop and have already begun getting to know each puppy as an individual.
Preparing Families, Too
Preparing a puppy for family life is only part of the process. We want you to know what to do when your puppy comes home, too.
Before go-home day, we’ll help you prepare for those first days and weeks together. You’ll know how to help your puppy settle into their new home, establish a routine, begin crate and potty training, continue socialization, and build on the foundation we’ve already started.
You’ll also have resources to refer back to when questions come up, so you don’t have to remember everything at once or figure it all out on your own.
And once your puppy is home, we’re still here. As your puppy grows and new questions come up, you’ll have continued access to information, resources, and support.
A Program That Continues to Evolve
We believe a responsible breeding program should never stop learning.
As we learn more about genetics, health, temperament, puppy development, and the needs of the families we serve, we continue to evaluate and refine what we do. Some of the most important parts of our program today weren’t part of it when we began. They came from experience, education, and a willingness to change when we found a better way.
Harman Corgis will continue to evolve as we learn more, but the goal behind those changes remains the same: to raise healthy, well-prepared Corgis and help them become successful, loved members of their families.
A Relationship That Doesn't End on Go-Home Day
Bringing your puppy home isn’t the end of our relationship.
We’re here as your puppy settles in, grows, and becomes part of your family. Whether you have a question about training, behavior, development, or simply aren’t sure whether something is normal, you have someone you can reach out to who already knows where your puppy came from.
We want our puppies to succeed in their new homes, and supporting the families who love them is part of that responsibility.
