Things to Know About the Waiting list
Effective May 15, 2021
- Your position on the waiting list is determined by the date we receive your waiting list deposit. This order will determine the puppy picking order.
- We will give you an estimated time frame of when to expect a puppy after you submit your Getting To Know You Form during our phone call. Please understand that this is an estimate and things do not always go as expected. We cannot control heat cycles, thus the specific timing of a litter, if a female becomes pregnant, litter size, or color and sex of puppies born.
- To be placed on the waiting list, a $200 deposit is required. This deposit will be applied towards the total price of the puppy.
A deposit signifies the good intent on the buyer’s behalf to follow through with the transaction of purchasing a puppy.
We are currently taking deposits and payments through Good Dog, Zelle, or Square (processing fees will be applied). - You are entitled to a complete refund if we are unable to provide a puppy that meets your preferences in the estimated time frame. If you choose to drop off the waiting list for any other reason, we will refund your deposit minus a $50 admin fee to cover payment processing fees and time.
- You may not transfer your position on our waiting list to anyone else, including friends or family.
- We realize that things change in people’s lives and encourage you to update us on preference or timeline changes on your part. Your deposit will be active for 3 years. You will be grandfathered to the price range listed on our website when we receive your deposit if we raise our prices. We will try to accommodate you; however, if we offer you a puppy that fits your preferences multiple times and you continue to pass, we have the right to adjust pricing to current rates.
- We reserve the right to return a deposit if we feel that it is not the right fit.
- We reserve the right to keep a puppy or puppies from all litters.
- To be fair to everyone on the list, we expect you to respond to our emails in a timely manner. We reserve the right to remove people who repeatedly fail to respond to emails or text messages regarding possible puppies.
Staying in Touch During the Waiting Process
Communication is an important part of our program, and email is our primary way of staying in touch. Please provide an email address that you check regularly so you don’t miss important updates about your future puppy.
Preference Update
From time to time, we may send a quick email asking you to confirm or update your preferences. This helps us keep our waiting list accurate if your timeline, color preferences, or other needs have changed.
Monthly Newsletter
While you’re waiting, you’ll receive our monthly Harman Corgis newsletter with updates on our dogs, upcoming litters, educational resources, and behind-the-scenes news from our program.
Litter Availability
When puppies are approximately 10 days old, we’ll contact families whose preferences appear to be a good match for that litter to see if the timing is right for them.
Before committing to a litter, please take a moment to consider your schedule, upcoming travel, family commitments, and financial readiness. Bringing home a puppy is a big decision, and we want you to feel fully prepared.
We ask that you respond within 48 hours so we can move forward with planning for the litter and, if needed, offer the opportunity to the next family on our waiting list.
Joining a Litter List
Once you let us know you’re ready for a puppy, you’ll be added to that litter’s private list.
At that point you’ll receive:
Access to the litter’s private webpage with updated photos and videos
Weekly emails to help you prepare for bringing your puppy home
Educational resources and guidance throughout the process
Puppy Selection
Each puppy receives a comprehensive veterinary examination at approximately 6–7 weeks of age, followed by our formal temperament evaluation just after 7 weeks.
Once these evaluations are complete, we’ll schedule a private Zoom meeting with your family. Please note that puppy selection occurs in the order families joined our waiting list.
During your meeting, you’ll be able to watch the puppies interact, discuss each puppy’s personality, energy level, and temperament, and receive guidance in selecting the puppy that best fits your family and lifestyle.
Waiting List Commitment
Our goal is to match every puppy with the right family while being respectful of everyone’s time.
If you commit to a specific litter but later decide not to move forward, or if we are unable to reach you after multiple email attempts, we reserve the right to remove you from the waiting list. This policy allows us to plan responsibly for each litter and provide timely opportunities to other families who are ready to welcome a puppy into their home.
Please add harmancorgis.com to your email contacts and check your spam or promotions folder occasionally while you’re on our waiting list.
This helps ensure you don’t miss important updates about your future puppy.
